Haven't found anything in the docs, does SP have any guidance on online image
backup/restore of volumes that are deduped at the Windows OS level?
Any gotchas or special considerations?

Hi, Robert. Windows images are called WIM files (*.wim). I don't know
off the top of my head if the TSM image file is the same thing, but it
seems reasonable that they could be.

I tried the imagebackup feature to backup a Windows server with a lot of files
(disk f:): backup image F: (around 360GB backup)
I did a restore with the option –imagetofile as: restore image F:
O:\diskF.img–imagetofile .
Run successfully and got an image file diskF.img of 3

I've impelemented just this at a client of mine. Daily incremental with the
Journal and then a weekly IMAGE backup. They don't
conflict at all. This server currently is about 5.5 million files on 2
different drives.

If you use IMAGE BACKUP + incremental ... When you try to restore a server
with WINPE + RESTORE IMAGE "servername" -INCRE -DEL ... it doesn't work
well. I have a call opened with IBM and the are testing the code.
