[Bug 252144] Re: alt tab lock gnome-terminal
Seems that this is an issue of SCIM configuration: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2531066&group_id=108454&atid=650539 Indeed, killing all SCIM processes stops this behavior. [Bug 356068] [NEW] various control keys become stuck in searchandrescue
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: searchandrescue "Search and rescue" is unplayable due to various keys becoming stuck, such as arrows, view change keys and so on. Steps to reproduce: 1. Launch Search and rescue. 2. Begin a mission. 3. Press F3. Expected result: View switches to outside the helicopter and stays so. Actual result: View switches to outside the helicopter and starts quickly cycling between helicopter and some building, turning the screen into a mess. After closing the game, same F3 key gets sent to whatever application is active, for example, Firefox will open the search bar. Similar things happen with other keys. [Bug 403106] [NEW] "On every workspace" windows lost when dragging over the edge of the screen
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz Windows which are set to appear on every workspace become inaccessible after dragging them over the edge of a workspace. They exist and are visible in the workspace switcher, but there is (almost) no way to see or interact with them. This causes confusion. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open any window. 2. Right-click on the title, choose "On every workspace". 3. Drag the window over the right edge of the screen. 4. Switch to every workspace and observe the result. Expected results: The window is still visible and can be interacted with. When switching workspaces, the window stays at the active one. Actual results: The window is not visible. When switching workspaces, the window doesn't appear at any of them, but in the workspace switcher applet it is always seen on the workspace to the right of the current one. The window can't be interacted with. There is actually a workaround to bring the window back: 1. Press Ctrl-Alt-Tab several times to switch to the window. 2. Press Alt-Space and choose "move". 3. Use the keyboard to move the window back. However, before I thought of the workaround, I had to close some apps (Pidgin) to get the windows back. [Bug 400533] [NEW] Keyboard layout reset to english when using multimedia keys
Public bug reported: I have two keyboard layouts - English and Russian, and a Defender KM-5390 USB keyboard with extra keys like "Play/Pause", "Back", "Forward", "Sleep", "Calculator", etc. When the Russian layout is active, pressing any of the extra keys performs the appropriate action (goes back, forward, changes volume, pauses current track, etc.) and sets keyboard layout back to English. This makes typing in Russian and controlling media playback very inconvenient. Steps to reproduce: 1. Ensure there are at least two keyboard layouts. 2. Open a text editor. 3. Switch to the layout which is not English. 4. Press one of the multimedia keys (for example, "Pause"). 5. Type a few words. Expected result: The words are typed in the layout selected before. [Bug 423778] [NEW] DarkRoom active window caption is unreadable in Human colors
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: human-theme After setting DarkRoom window decorations while keeping Human colors, active window caption text is drawn with two shades, both dark in color, which makes text unreadable. [Bug 445251] [NEW] Enable displaying input language instead of keyboard layout in gnome-keyboard-applet
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-applets Currently, gnome-keyboard-applet indicates the selected keyboard layout, not language that layout belongs to. For example, when entering English using USA keyboard layout is shows "USA". 1. This might be confusing for people using USA layout for entering English in another countries. 2. When switching between two input languages, more important information is not layout, but the language itself. 3. This is not consistent with what Windows shows. So, there should be an option for making gnome-keyboard-applet display not the layout name, but the language name (abbreviated if needed). [Bug 447780] [NEW] "Send problem report to developers" window doesn't respond to Tab
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: apport It is impossible to use keyboard to navigate "Send problem report to developers" window. When it appears, the focus is on "Content of the report", and Space triggers the window with that information. However, there is no way to use keyboard to move to "Cancel" button - neither down arrow nor Tab work. Workaround: Enter chooses "Send report", Escape chooses "Cancel". Still, unavailability of Tab makes the window un-intuitive.
