You can also do a hybrid IGH/muti-ring crank. Here's mine that I just finished (Not a Riv, but Rivish) http://tinyurl.com/ce9aosc Alfine 8 in back, 28/48 in front. Rides nice. An SA 3 speed with a triple up front would give you a nice range too.
