hi i put derailers on my quickbeam. it was easy just use an adapter to add a rear derailer and use a phil or paul 5sp 120 hub or any of the ones from the fifties thru the early 80s. i got a nice used 120mm 700c wheel used for 30 bucks at the lbs. i even use the nice silver bar end shifters. just go for it joe
