I've been collecting (hoarding?) the bigger Schwinn Paramounts w/ 531 tubes. I think the word that's commonly used is planing, that elusive, mythical quality of just going like stink when you want it to, of having a good day out there when you really can't think of a reason why.... These bikes have it. But I also have a Serotta Rapid Tour which has a smaller top-tube but everything else is a bit oversize. Rides like a Buick but jumps in accelerations like a Cannondale-every pedal stroke seems to go straight into the road. It's a little weighty, and if I could get that performance built by Ben, in the exact same dimensions, but made fron CF (gasp!), I'd do it in a minute.
