SalesForce and ADP Payroll were the first players in the cloud You can say what you want to but the cloud can work for a lot of companies. My data is too important is about as false as my poo doesn't stink. > There's also the episode last month where a lightning strike knocked out > Microsoft's BPOS and Amazon's EC2 cloud services which are hosted here > in Dublin, for a day if not two ... > -- I thought that I read it hit the internet pipe that took out all that service. To me the cloud works if you are growing. If you need to be able to service more customers quickly and then scale back to normal. The term "Trending" comes to mind where you need to ramp up in seconds to minutes. The cloud fills that need. My boss has no desire to consider the cloud for what we do. He is also a VB6 fan so I understand his resistance. -- Stephen Russell Unified Health Services 60 Germantown Court Suite 220 Cordova, TN 38018 Telephone: 888.510.2667 901.246-0159 cell _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: ProFox@leafe.com Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/cajidmykp9fmtj8m+qvbminolvzwfbqe4aj3+ozsnnww9v75...@mail.gmail.com ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
