The real action for Microsoft might come from its improved Window Server 
8 OS, which should give commercial versions of Linux and Unix OS(s) like 
Redhat, SUSE, and Macs running osX more competition.  Window Server 8 
also targets VMware and other proprietary offerings from 
hardware/software giants like IBM and HP.  It will also compete with 
third parties that offer cloud computing; because, it offers the cloud 
within an enterprise.
