Are you sure you are interpreting Yahoo's documentation correctly? I

Hmmm, I'm not sure. As I've read the information, it seems to say that
if you're operating an email list and delivering to Yahoo, then you
should change the sender's email address regardless. I did indeed think
that a bit strange, as you'd have to treat Yahoo differently and deliver
it a different copy of the list email.
We're seeing a tiny percentage bounce with this error - maybe it is
something Yahoo is trying?
It seems most reasonable to me to apply the same munging/rewriting
methods for each message, no matter which sender and recipient domain is
involved.
Agreed.
I suggest that when in doubt, look at what Mailman is doing,
and emulate that behaviour.
AFAICT, this is what we are doing (depending on Mailman settings of course).
