It must be more than that.  I have lists with lots of Yahoo subscribers, I
rewrite From: roughly the way you do, a reversible rewrite of addresses with
DMARC policies other than none, and Yahoo continues to accept my mail.  I
just looked, with mail received as recently as this morning.

There are at least two people on this list with knowledge of Yahoo's internal
workings who might be able to offer some hints.
