Mark and Andy,
I wrote my own super fast, pretty tiny list manager and mailer -- it includes a web interface, archiving  mechanism, ...

I noticed that for yahoo (and aol) email address I too have to rewrite the From line (though by default I do not). It is configurable on a domain by domain basis.  This seems to work for yahoo mail delivery - but sucks.

I appears that just as delivery settles down, someone - gmail, yahoo, ... makes a change that I need to chase down.

For years, Yahoo has rejected mailing list email with From lines from domains with a DMARC record with p=reject or p=quarantine. We identified a Yahoo policy change in early November, affecting handling of mailing list email from domains with a DMARC record of p=none. Previously, they would accept mailing list emails sent from these domains without having to re-write the From line. Since the policy change, they have started bouncing those messages.

Thanks Mark, good to know.

Our policy had been to not re-write the From lines of emails sent from p=none domains. In light of this change and to clear up other confusion, we now re-write From lines from domains that have any DMARC record. Which, alas, ends up being most of our list traffic.

Interesting. It does seem a shame to do as such, given that when operating within published standards means one shouldn't have to, but I guess when you want to ensure email is delivered...
