Actually, this makes me think that we need some additional features:

 - dictionary embedded in .lyx (some docs make extensive use of words
that aren't really and shouldn't be used in other contexts)

 - continuous spellcheck setting should be optionally per-document

In the meantime, please turn continuous spellcheck on by default.
It's too late to improve my life (I now know about the feature, so
I've enabled it), but we're talking about gaining new users and their
love.
