I think we need to clarify the concept first. I think we should change to the outer/inner concept and then provide an option to set the outer and inner quotes in Document Settings (as opposed to the outer quotes now only). In theory, all quotation marks, no matter if they are single or double or anything else, should be selectable both as outer and inner quotes. So your patch goes probably towards the right direction, but we need a more general solution. There's also an "InsetQuote needs a rewrite" bug report, where some other issues are recorded. Jürgen
