But the installer already installs all needed packages. I can and will
not ship all needed packages separately from MiKTeX.
Installing the packages together with MiKTeX assures that you have a
full functional, feature complete LaTeX-system. This also assures that
you have tthe latest package versions - there are every day packages
updates and the MiKTeX-developer releases them every week. So no matter
when you install LyX, you'll be up to date.
I am not convinced. I think it is OK to not install the latest packages.
Alternatively you could provide one version and, at the end of the
installation ask the user if he/she would like to update LateX packages,
of course warning him that an internet connection is mandatory to
proceed. This way, one can install a fully functional LyX+LateX without
any need for an internet connection.
