Taling about it at the pub Friday night:

Everything is part of Bates' masterplan.

- not wanting to win the play-off final last year
- renewing Blackwell's contract, knowing full well he was a crap manager
- releasing stories of dressing room unrest
- selling Killa and Hulse
- ignoring the coaching staff pre-season report warning that we could be
relegated if we did not buy new players
- spending cash on Billy's Bar, nappy-changing facilities, etc instead of
squad strengthening
- delaying the appointment of a new manager until we were up sh*it creek
- charging premiership season ticket prices knowing full well this would
cause a drop in attendances and still budgeting for 24000 average attendance
- charging lower prices for "big must-win" matches which would normally have
drawn extra fans to the game

If Wise was also involved, you can also add (although slightly more
far-fetched than above):

- Mole-gate and Nicholls-gate
- getting rid of the senior pros
- preferring Heath to Rui
- getting the team to sit back every time they went ahead.

Bates now has his wish and can get a better price for the club
