After reading my reply, I think I missed the point.  You probably weren't 
talking about the Dragonfly canopy.  You can make a KR as wide as you want, 
but bending the wood that sharply becomes problematic.  That's easily solved 
by using thinner strips and laminating like the boat builders do, or 
steaming the wood during the bending process.  I know some folks have 
stretched it 6".  If you overcome the wood bending business and don't mind 
the drag penalty, I don't see why you couldn't stretch it a foot.  But if 
you did that I'd have to say you're building the wrong airplane to start 
with.

Having said all of this, my next plane will likely be a single seater.  Not 
only do I hardly ever fly passengers (because few people are stupid enough 
to want to climb in that little airplane with me), the liability of it is 
really starting to gnaw on me.  You can sign a waiver, but that doesn't keep 
your wife and kids from filing a law suite against my estate, and therefore 
my wife and kids.  I'm not usually that paranoid, but that's the unfortunate 
legal atmosphere here in the US, and it's the least I can do for my 
family...
