MMMMMM, I understand where Ingrid is coming from....I mean, I get very
tired of seeing women constantly treated as sexual objects or fantasy
objects instead of real people.
I find myself torn between feeling that it is this sort of atmosphere of
treating women as objects that allows things to go on they way they do in
our culture, where women feel shut out of the more "male-dominated areas",
and the feeling that free expression is an extremely valuable part of our
culture, and yes, occasionally you'll run into some people who fell out of
the "jerk jar" and don't know how to respect others.
For the most part, I ignore this sort of adolescent crap and keep contacts
with those for whom I have respect and from whom I receive respect. (One of
the reasons I joined this list )
Unfortunately, I have found this sort of immaturity in any group, no matter
what the focus is.
