Dear spacecadet
The tangible nationalist enforcement and specifically, its increase in
the north american region, seems to have arrived in part off of the back
of sentiment veiled as libertarian.
In multiple facets, ironically with opposition to government overeach
being one.
I understand why a honest libertarian would be opposed to large non
consensual impositions such as DEI, of which counteraction is then taken
as discriminatory, as if one does not have the capacity to be caring
without force and as if care is only realised through state/ corperate
association. However there are many other apparatus that beg the same
question, why focus on hiring policy and support the bolstering of other
apparatus in the same breath ( in regards to the trump quote)? Perhaps
because of alternate labour market frustration.
Including the package without caveat then would be potentialy linking
directly to such sentiments, the trump slogan is explicit.
Considering that the majority of human communication occurs in a work
setting, the sentiment that work settings should not react to such
phenomena lets them spread without recourse.
I think caution is therefore justitfied
( libertarianism, taken as meaning action for liberty as opposed to any
of the various groups for which it is used plainly as their identifier)
Please forgive the statement considering that my contributions are
sparse, however I intend to use and contribute to guix for the
foreseeable future and whilst ignoring argument bombs ( not by you(
spacecadet), but by Enrico) seems important, I think that linking to
these statements is a departure from prior guix conduct.
If software is just software, then what is wrong with the maintainer not
stating anything, like with almost every other package in guix.
I think a caveat or a message asking for the editing of surrounding
statements ( assuming it will be maintained) sounds like a good idea.
Thanks all
