This is entirely correct. However, as a project, we have a code
of
conduct and generally work to be inclusive, which is apparently
the
exact opposite of what this people are doing.
I think we can’t ignore it or we’d be sending the wrong signal.
Thanks for mentioning this, I was going to ask about the CoC as
well. While the software itself might be fine, some users will
inevitably need to interact with upstream, which seems fraught.
This isn’t just their mention of DEI, but the overall attitude and
history of the developer[1].
This is a difficult situation and I’m genuinely not sure where to
draw the line between users’ freedom to run whatever software they
want and living up to the Guix CoC.
Personally, although I would like to see X11 improved, I will not
be using Xlibre and wouldn’t recommend it to others.
