There used to be, that is the origin of this file. I keep debating
with myself about whether we should just put the strings in the c
files, or keep them in messages_i18n.h. There are pros and cons to
keeping a central message database:
pros:
+ Less likely to have strings that are almost, but not quite,
the same.
+ Easy to make global changes to a string that is used many
different places -- you just change it once.
+ Easier to do spell checking, etc.
cons:
+ harder to find string context using po file info.
+ You can't use the c files in a different project
by just copying them over.
+ Strings that are no longer being used tend to stay
in the global database.

We should make them translatable, though we may not be able to do this
for 1.4.
n = Not reconciled
c = cleared (as in cleared the bank)
y = reconciled
f = frozen (as in a frozen accounting period, this is currently unused)
It's probably a bad idea to put the single letters in as translatable
strings. One thing we could do is put in the words/phrases above and
then take the first letter of the translated string. Would that work?

You don't have to worry about the budget-dialog strings for 1.4. That
feature is not finished and will not be in 1.4.

The new reconciliation dialog allows you to set the date
of the statement you get from the bank. That is the date
being referred to. As long as it's understood that
'reconciliation date' refers to that date, and not the
date you performed the reconciliation, then it's ok.
