I tend to agree with Niclas in this area, though the last exchanges you had with Noel led me closer to understand the points we seem to be missing. I guess we are using words in different ways, or else there is some context missing. The main thing I didn't took into account previously is the feeling that it is harder to earn committership when coming from inside than when donating some code.
