gravitational field, but gravity curves spacetime.  Special Relativity can
handle the acceleration of a rocket if it's well beyond the orbit of
Neptune, but not if it's close to the sun. Special relativity can't handle
gravity because that involves curved spacetime, and for that you need
General Relativity. Special Relativity has no explanation for why gravity
causes things to move the way that they do, but General Relativity does. *
