The only problem with that theory, is that it may kill off other EV makers, but when ICE cars get cheaper (no need for expensive emissions controls) and gas (drill baby drill) gets even cheaper, who will buy EVs? (Assuming the Trump policies go unchecked)
According to this calculator, Gas prices, adjusted for inflation, are already lower in many parts of the US than they were in 1978! https://www.usinflationcalculator.com/gasoline-prices-adjusted-for-inflation/ If Trump manages to actually convince US petroleum companies to shoot themselves in the foot and "drill baby drill", then it could mean ICE cars get cheaper to operate than EVs in some parts of the country, and that combined with the loss of EV incentives, might hurt even Tesla. The only saving grace here is that lower US petroleum prices will force downward pressure on global prices, further putting the nails in Putin's coffin.
