Hey Ken,

I'm very interested. I've always loved the way yours look. Since we're
sorta in a design phase I'd like to come up with something that we can all
agree on. "All" includes anyone that might be interested regardless of
whether or not they own a 34+ or 37+ or any of their variants.

Design considerations would be the font of the C&C, the size of the plates,
the relationship of everything, the size of the sword and it's ratios.

I nominate Gary as the design guy. He's clearly demonstrated his
proficiency.

Gary, you've already done such a nice job which I greatly appreciate. If
you are pursuing your own solution in polycarbonate and are unwilling to be
the "design guy" I would understand. If not, I'd like to see what you can
come up with for this stainless steel solution. I think what you already
came up with is great and matches amazingly close to what was original. I
envision a melding of Ken's plate and your design.

-Instead of being raised as in yours, the characters and symbols would be
recessed.

-Per Ken, instead of being 1/4 inch thick it would be ~1/8th inch.

-The rim is directly on the edge and recessing it will make filling it with
paint challenging. I would eliminate the rim

-As Ken suggested, swords on the forward end and pointing forward.
Different one each for Port and Starboard.

-Slightly larger (1/2 inch added to height and width) so as to cover the
original hole and overlap by 1/4 inch on all sides

-As already discussed while you were originally designing yours, provide
options for various model numbers. As I see it, this is the option which
opens this project to all C&C owners.

-Maybe these "specs" could be kept and managed on the photo album for
future owners. A profit margin could be added with proceeds forwarded to
Stu.

-If we initially drum up enough interested owners I believe it would
justify a FREE set of plates for you. I'm thinking that if we get the per
plate price near $50 it would be very easy to justify.

Thanks a bunch Ken and Gary!

Hello Everybody,

While we are on the subject of C&C 37+ nameplates for sale, I have another
option to put foreward.

As some of you already know, my boat has custom made stainless steel name
plates on each side of my cabin top.

A few photos of them have been circulated in the past. Here is a link to
one of those photos:

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/gh_Za0epuiPkRaZG8fo1NJPE0LDMN2ciJXnWeEGp-rNpYrfVT6JnE_285WjjvuqE_AW-tQ=w1896-h791

...and in context:

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/hWpYcECinHHDMdWwInzVRGSJhWrC0uqlrxElnqjjJWAQZ5gtjFCJUWEJmMCBAK2CnQIuFw=w1896-h791

The plates are made of 11 gauge (1/8") stainless, the letters and symbols
recessed and then infill painted.

Because of the ongoing discussion of name plates I removed mine from the
boat last week and took them to a local business (Protocase) that makes
this sort of thing and specializes in one offs and small quantities
and regularly ships all over North America (and Europe).

Protocase tells me they can easily reproduce these plates exactly the same
as mine or any variation of that layout for the prices listed below, in
Canadian dollars. Remember, the Canadian dollar is in the toilet right now
so the US members on the list will pay considerably less in US dollars. As
of a few minutes ago (according to Google) 1 Canadian Dollar equals 0.70 US
Dollar.

These prices DO NOT include the infill paint, this shop isn't set up to do
that yet (they hope to be able to offer this service very soon, *perhaps as
soon as next week*). These guys (and girls) are into customer satisfaction.

46088-1 NAME PLATE (C&C 37+) REV(-) Quantity 1 Lead Time: 2-3 business
days. Shipping is also included in these prices, not extra (FedEx- 2
business days).

Quantity Product Unit Price
1 NAME PLATE (C&C 37+) REV(-) $130.98
1 Setup Fee $70.00
1 Design Services Fee $40.00

A second, identical plate would not incur an additional $70.00 Setup Fee or
the $40.00 Design Services Fee AND the Unit Price would also drop some.

By the time you are ordering 10 or more IDENTICAL plates the unit price
drops to $53.00 each plus only one charge of the Setup Fee and the Design
Services Fee for the entire order. So a group order, allowing them to make
plates in batches, makes sense for everybody.

Variations on the plate's layout (say, to have the sword pointing
toward the bow on each side of the boat) or lettering changes (to have C&C
37/40+ or C&C 37 XL or whatever) will incur some variation of the $70.00 Setup
Fee (the simpler the change the lower the set up fee) but probably will be
exempt from the $40.00 Design Fee for each variation on the theme.

They did provide a quote on a pdf but Stu's List doesn't allow
attachments. Or if I could attach it, I didn't want to eat up his
bandwidth, so I didn't try.

Hello Christin,

A price on just making the plates to the correct size with rounded corners,
drilled, countersunk holes and the engraving would be fine, thank you.

Hello Ken,

It’s Christin here on Shirley’s behalf.

I would like to share more details/feedback from our Engineering team.

We can do the engraving but we can't fill the letters with paint, would you
like a quote for just the engraving?

The material is 11 gauge (1/8") stainless, which we do stock.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,
