Thanks for the replies and advice. I stand corrected on the asbestos. Not
sure where I got that impression. Moyer sells "Exhaust Wrap Kit" - no
mention of asbestos. The local auto parts store has "Titanium Exhaust
Wrap". I suppose that's lighter.  :-)

At any rate, I'm still looking to go cheap and was wondering if a couple of
coats, inside and out, of high temperature paint might impede corrosion for
a few bonus years. And maybe inhibit zinc oxide fumes. I don't motor much
and have never felt flu-like while aboard.

The muffler shop "slinky stainless" mentioned in another thread is also
interesting. That's reminiscent of an old Duesenberg exhaust system. Not
trying to start a Duesenberg winter-thread.  :-)
