Thanks for the replies and advice. I stand corrected on the asbestos. Not sure where I got that impression. Moyer sells "Exhaust Wrap Kit" - no mention of asbestos. The local auto parts store has "Titanium Exhaust Wrap". I suppose that's lighter. :-)
At any rate, I'm still looking to go cheap and was wondering if a couple of coats, inside and out, of high temperature paint might impede corrosion for a few bonus years. And maybe inhibit zinc oxide fumes. I don't motor much and have never felt flu-like while aboard. The muffler shop "slinky stainless" mentioned in another thread is also interesting. That's reminiscent of an old Duesenberg exhaust system. Not trying to start a Duesenberg winter-thread. :-) http://jkbaker.com/gallery/d/389-2/IMG_0816.jpg Bob M Ox 33-1 Jax, FL On Sat, Feb 22, 2014 at 10:30 PM, bobmor99 . <bobmo...@gmail.com> wrote: > ~5 years ago Ox's ol' Onan waterlift muffler rusted out.
