OK that's why the zinc lasted only a year.should last much longer in fresh
water.a conductive medium is required: as conductivity of the medium
increases from truly fresh water to seawater with about 3% sodium chloride
content so increases the need for corrosion protection of the copper alloy
prop, which is the main reason we use sacrificial zincs on our boats.to
protect the copper alloy prop
