Funny timing for me, Ed. Just sold my wonderful J/80 and have my other race boat up for sale. As of last week, I'm the proud owner of a C&C 40 and plan to pretty much cruise it exclusively...maybe the odd day race around Conanicut Island but that's about it. I'm looking forward to spending a lot of time on the water with my wife, who didn't race with me. It's a weird feeling for me because I've spend a good percentage of the last couple of decades racing one-design in my Shields, a Laser, and a 110 or J/80. I think the racing game has changed, and not for the better. Still trying to figure out exactly how the game has changed but I can see it has. I am really looking forward to just sailing along without a schedule and trying not to go to weather. If it's raining, I'll stay where I am. I'm easily bored, so no doubt I will embrace the cliche of sailing from one exotic port to another and fixing the boat.
