The input material is an xvid avi (fourcc set to mp4v otherwise Cinelerra doesn't understand). Setting color model to RGB, RGB-float or YUV makes no difference. I just tried loading in a PNG as source, and then the brightness is OK in that case. So, it happens when decoding that avi, apparently. But I don't think there is anything wrong with the avi, because both xine and mplayer show it properly, and when I make a screenshot of the avi with xine, it's also as it should be.
