That is freeze-features branch, I was just about to suggest this myself.

What do you mean by "based on po files"?

If you mean you want a string freeze?

If not, I would suggest that:
- - real string freeze
- - call for translation updates
- - allow approx. 2 weeks for updates

In parallel, bug fixing can be done, which is a good thing :-)
