Yes, let's try to cut to the chase and just reset everything in VNC; it might be
interesting to find exactly how it got in that state, but it will be frustrating
(and also pointless from your viewpoint, since it will be much faster to just do
it from scratch).

(1) Uninstall again from the server console.

(2) Run regedit and do a search for all keys named exactly: ORL. Delete the
entire key each time.

The places it will probably be at this point are:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ORL

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORL

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\ORL

It may be also under each and every SID key within HKEY_USERS; by looking for a
key folder with the name ORL we will make sure we find them all.

(3) Make sure we've pulled out every trace of the service; the key it is under
is:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\winvnc

Just delete anything left there after the uninstall.

(4) As insurance, make sure that WinVNC is not listed in the services either
anymore.

(5) Delete the C:\Program Files\ORL folder.

(6) Reboot.

(7) Follow my first set of instructions for installing.
