Alex, Thanks for the reply. I checked it and it did say "no value set." However, my attempts to follow what you said didn't work. So, I uninstalled VNC, rebooted, and reinstalled. I can now get it tow work if I don't run it as a service. The minute I install the service, I get the same problem. I did run the "Install registry settings too."
Any good instructions on how to resolve the running as a service issue? I am running Windows 2000 server SP2 Josh -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Alex K. You may not have a valid default password for the situation when your user account is not logged in - this is a problem if you have run the service helper stuff. Check that a password entry exists in the following registry location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3\Default There should be a binary value named "Password". If there is not, log in directly as the account under which you set up the password, then export the password from the following location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ORL\WinVNC3 Change the REG file header to point to the HKLM default location I mentioned first, import it, and you should be OK. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Josh Bogart" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Sunday, 2002-04-21 10:24 Subject: HelP!
