Hello Andy. The "Artemis" menu lacks the tree, whereas the "Artemis JMX" menu presents the tree as as it is in the "JMX" section: Without Artemis-specific customizations. And without the tree, the navigation isn't as straightforward as it used to be.
I'll try to summarize the issues I've found so far: * The "back" browser button no longer works. Wherever I am, it always returns me to the initial page. * The tree (being a plain tree of JMX objects) is at least double the size, and that's without the additional padding. * The "folders" in the tree (again, due to its JMX nature) no longer have any attributes and operations. In the previous UI, they had. * The tree control does not have its own frame, so when digging deeper, object attributes remain at the top of the page, and I need to scroll back. Originally, I didn't have to. * Navigating without the tree means clicking very little numbers, such as the number of queues when navigating from a list of addresses. * Getting back from the list of queues to the list of addresses is only possible by clicking the Addresses panel, and that returns me back to page 1. * Navigating without the tree forces me to open the list of queues. However, some queues may have very complicated filters, so the filter column needs to stay hidden. * For some reason, the default sorting queues and addresses is by their ID. The same goes for the search panel. * When running two servers on the same station, for some reason, working with the "localhost:8161" console logs me off from the "localhost:8162" console, and vice versa. * The "Broker: ..." text takes up vertical space. If it really must be there, then maybe the header bar would be a good place to put it. The original UI didn't have it, as it was always visible in the tree. * And the padding in general. I know it's nice to look at, but as soon as there's more information on the screen, it's at the expense of usability. It's not a mobile app. Jan -----Original Message----- From: Andy Taylor <andy.tayl...@gmail.com> Sent: středa 9. dubna 2025 11:52 To: users@activemq.apache.org Subject: Re: 2.40.0 HAWTIO console design On Wed, 9 Apr 2025 at 09:44, Jan Šmucr <jan.sm...@aimtecglobal.com> wrote: > Hello. > I know I may get some hate for this, but still, I'd like to ask: Is > the new console about to get some usability upgrades? > Upgrades as in? > We're running 2.35.0 atm, and soon I'll be asked to upgrade to a newer > version.
