Hello
I followed your guidance, went to the shop and inform them to issue a letter
of invitation or recommendation for the new 3G mobile network, and my dirty
sim needed to be replaced for serving the new technology.
They agreed that my sim is in a poor condition and they felt a little
surprise how can it be upgraded. I said it did over the air and they said
back to mme, that's fine and what's the problem?
I tried to explain them that after the updrading process my sim ID was
changed. Could you give me a statement or a letter to advise me to get the
new 3G support simcard? Immediately, they said they cannot, because they are
the customer service shop. What they have to do like a helpdesk and they are
not in the position to issue any statement for any purpose.
If they found the customer have problems with their service. In my case,
they will issue the new simcard for free and they verbally agree with that,
but to issue a statement to recommend me to do this or that they are not in
the position to do it.
At the moment, they have a few handbill for advertising the non-Thai speaker
who are their customer to understand and instruct how to upgrade to the new
network that supports 3G by themselves. I have sighted person with me and
read through it. It sounds like an advertising note from the company.
I got back to ask TalkNav. What kind of information or evidence they really
want from me about the accident that my network operator upgrade my simcard
over the air and leads to the change of Sim ID and the activation code
cannot be used any longer. I'm still waiting to hear from them. I'm scare to
hear that Nuance cannot help.
I'm happy to scan these handbills and sent to Talknav, again it looks
similar to the information from the online newspaper, but these are made by
the company. I can write an e-mail to my phone operator and explain them and
CC to Nuance or TalkNav, if they love to, but what kind of thing they really
want to know from me actually?
They should understand also that all shops here are to serve but not
authorized or saying anything on the statement except the advertising
handbills for the new package and so on. And issuing the new simcard is a
free process why do customer want a printing letter to explain, because I go
there in person any way, and they verified me by showing the citizen ID card
and the handset.
Thank for all friends that are patient to read my headache story and from
the bottom of my heart I know that you believe what I try to tell you, but I
cannot find a proof to tell them to believe the fact happened to me.
Yours, Eakachai

Lol, do this simply. Go to the shop, report your sim card having problem,
faulty. report to them and ask them to change your sim. at the same time,
ask for a letter from your provider to prove to Nuance that there is a
reason for changing it, cause your card was faulty. This should go through
as faulty cards and getting a new one is not transferring license. Just in
case, keep the old sim as a proof to show/send to Nuance if need too.
In saying above, I am not even sure if Nuance still exist or bother to
entertain us anymore.
So, I think so only disadvantage u get by using your old sim card is you
have no 3g access.

Doesn't matter! If you get a new Sim! You need to buy a transfer license
from the old Sim to the new Sim. Restoring the OLD license will not work on
the new Sim. The Sim ID number will be different.
Like Brad has stated! If you cell provider is wanting you to get a new sim
and your old one is still working! I would ignore what the cell provider is
wanting you to do being it isn't neccessary. 3G is built on top of GSM so
your old phones will still work.

our friend worry is just one of a few reason why we need to change the sim
card. e.g, faulty sim card could be another one, etc
and the solution needed is on the changed if happen due to whatever
reason,
on the license, is not whether need to change the sim card or not, which
is
just a temporary solution..
a bigger question mark is, Where & how to get back the license on a new
sim
card?
even to restore the license over the phone, the nuance talks server is now
not responding at all. i tried many times , but still failed. now i am
doing
it manually, where before i use to use the restore license method over the
phone.
just my opinion. a better solution is much needed.
With warmest regards..

I wouldn't worry about getting a new sim card. The one you have should be
fine. The 3G signal is built on top of the GSM signal so is basically
sent
out with the GSM signal. So in other words no need to change sim cards.

Subject: [Talks] Requesting for the replacement of my simcard
Dear lister,
I have Nokia C5 and have been held a Sim-based license of Nuance Talks
more
than six years. I got a terrible problem at the moment and would like to
hear some feedbacks from other talks’ experience users.
AIS which is a known mobile operator in Thailand, will launch the 3G
service on the international standard 2.1-gigahertz frequency to serve
their
customer during this month. Please refer the folowing URL for more
detail,
they were drawn out from two local newspapers in Thailand:
http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/local/348897/thailand-3g-era-officially-starts
and
http://www.nationmultimedia.com/business/AIS-soft-launches-3G-2-1GHz-service-aims-for-20000-30203756.html
They request existing customers who had used their old simcard to get a
new
one for free at their shop now onward. I tried to negotiate with my local
operator like their call agent and shop staff, and inform them that I
cannot
change my simcard with some reasons; however, they don’t think I can use
my
old simcard any longer after the official launch of 3G service during
these
couple of month. What should I do if my Talk license bases on this
simcard
that needs to be replaced very shortly.
I tried to contact my distributor who I bought the product from their
site,
and forwarded them the payment confirmation statement in the past for
their
reference. Unfortunately, I didn’t hear anything from them for five days
up
to now. What should I do?
Sincerely,
Eakachai
