Is there a winvnc process running when you call the command below?
The command tells an existing server to connect to the client but does not
run the server itself.

Hello all,
I have a question which many of you may have already faced. I apologize
for reiterating it, but the FAQ and Documentation didn't really clear it
up for me.

I'm not sure about getting VNC to work through a different port, bu
I'd like to announce the availability of VNCDimension 0.7.6 for Apple's
Mac OS X. This is a VNC client that support multiple simultaneous VNC
sessions. Since this is a Cocoa Mac OS X native application, it will not
run on Mac OS 9 or below. You can get VNCDimension at
http://www.mdimension.com
When I am at the server directly, I have a screen resolution of about
1024x768. When I connect using VNC, I am getting only 640x480.
I am using the Xvnc -inetd option, with the -geometry 1024x768 switch.
Any suggestions

It is possible to have VNC automatically change drag mode from
"show contents" to "outline" sort of like it is done with the background.

dear sir
I think the best way is declaring Xvnc daemons through the
/usr/dt/config/Xservers file. As 'standard' X terminals.
We experienced this method with other operating systems (specially Unixware
which uses CDE). You can consult our documentation at

Thanks much for all you help I really appreciate it. Finally found the
problem. The port that VNC was accessing was disabled. Chalk this one down
to a "Brain Burp" on my part. Many thanks again.
Charles.

Solaris has a limit on the number of caracters on a inetd line, which
is what you are running into.
I got around it this way.
A script to add the default parameters which I called Xvncinet:
#!/bin/sh
/usr/local/bin/Xvnc -inetd -query localhost -once -geometry $1 -depth
$2 -s 0 -nevershared -
Thank you!
It was my SGID that was my problem.

Is there any way to get -inetd and -httpd -httpport working together.
Most of the time, I will have a vncviewer accessible, but I was wondering if
there was a way to get http access through the -inetd interface also.
Everything I have tried has seg faulted on me.
Basically, I started up a -inet

We are using VNC on Windows 2000. However, the Windows 2000 machines are
actually virtual machines running on a RH7.0 box running VMware GSX
server.

James,
i have already started the WinVNC service. Since I want to implement a VB
written service to tell WinVNC to connect to the client no matter the
desktop is logged on or not, I use WinVNC service.

Derek
