My /etc/X11/Xmodmap file has "keycode 22 = Backspace". I don't remember for sure if I added that to fix VNC, but you might try it. (You should be able to try it with xmodmap at the command line, to find out.) This really confused me at first because my password had a "5" in it. ;) -Origina

As it's only a short script I'll post it here for the benefit of everyone... NB it doesn't uninstall 3.3.2 since the uninstall is different, but 3.3.3 works fine. You'll have to change path to tightvnc etc. too but you should get the idea. I've used it on about 20 machines ok so far (with the exc
