Has anyone tried 'sudo apt-get update' ing, restarting, and then Going to

When I went to get the source to modify for lucid it had a patch 'for

I have a guess at what is causing this: Changing screens. I tried to
change users and got this error, and the bug reporter changed screens to
get to text terminal.

The part of the screen capture where the BALANCE slider was moving when
my mouse was over it but not move I was using the scroll wheel on my
mouse and it still triggered the bug.

I always install ubuntu with the Dvorak keyboard layout.
