Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-media

On the Output tab of the Sound Preferences window, the main volume goes
lower when you adjust the left/right Balance. I will attach a video of
this behavior.

To reproduce:

Click the volume applet and go to "Sound Preferences ..."
Go to the Output tab.
Try to adjust the Balance slider all the way to the left or to the right.
Notice that the Output Volume slider goes down. Also, notice the balance slider
moves to the middle when you adjust the Output Volume slider.

Package version:
gnome-media:
  Installed: 2.29.91-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 2.29.91-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
