You probably want to check your install. I have the exact same card (id
& all in my Thinkpad x301) . So what happens when you load up iwlagn ? Run
"sudo modprobe iwlagn". Also can you try an 9.10 live CD and see if you see the
same behavior, something may have gotten messed up in
anything else?

/var/crash does not show anything. Maybe its because totem just closes
OR it just aborts OR in other words exits with error code 11, request
code 132, minor code 19. This same error comes even with vlc. Only the
serial number of the error reported changes.

I read one similar to this bug but it is not that same, the one I read
said it couldn't log even using the shell (alt-ctrl+f1) I am able to log
in using the shell but I cannot log in using Gnome after a user logs
out. I have to perform a reboot in order for the next uses to be able to

In Kubuntu Jaunty (9.04) with some GNOME applications already installed,
the error message is different.
My default browser is set to "chromium-browser."

I don't think installing through software center will actually install
the backend-master role that would pull in a MySQL server (which appears
to be the problem here). You should be able to fix it by installing
mythtv-backend-master and/or mysql-server-5.1

hci0 turned out to be the device I added in post #29. I just removed this
device and did the same for hci1. This seems to have helped the issue greatly.
I no longer get the syslog spam and the horrible skipping seems to have
stopped.

I've obtained a new display today; Samsung SyncMaster P2450 - 1920x1080.
It replaces an older 1920x1200 display.

After lots of investigation, I discovered that the boundary between
system and user accounts is hard coded in gdm, and patched from 500 to
