It looks like there has actually been some activity upstream on the graphite theme on the 0.22-fixes branch (http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/browser/branches/release-0-22-fixes/myththemes). Would you mind activating Mythbuntu auto-builds to check if those fixes helped to solve your problem? If they didn't, we can forward this bug upstream to their bug tracker to keep an eye on.
