I guess that can make a 1.3.7 that uses libvlc due to the number of
users with this issue. For this, I would need to some testers that can
build from a source tarball. It would also be nice if someone could
update the PPA.

Hi Pablo,
Thanks for the reply. I still have no solution. I think it could be
xine that's causing the issue. That is the sound and video player used
by Me-Tv. Good to know it's not just me with the problem. I'm in New
Zealand

Hi Hezy,
Many thanks for your reply. I am in New Zealand but don't know of
anyone who uses Me-Tv here, so you could very well be right. VLC player
will play back recorded Me-Tv programmes just fine, but Me-Tv has no
sound. If I attempt to play the recorded programme through Xine, the
same sound
Same problem here, in Argentina. We have ISDB-T. Video is alright, but
no sound at all.

Hi,
Just wanted to say that I have the same problem: no sound on Me-TV, but
when playing a recorded file with VLC the sound is fine. As far as I
could find this problem occurs to everyone who tried Me-TV in my area
(Israel), so I believe that it has something to do with a the digital
signal we ha
Hi Owen,
This does look like a libxine based issue, feel free to raise this issue
with them.
Cheers,
Michael

Hi Michael,
Thanks for the clarification. I can confirm that libxine1-all-plugins
are installed. I can record from Me-Tv and when played back in xine
player, no sound is evident. When playing the same recorded programme
back in VLC player, video and sound are all okay. I think my issue is
now
Sorry, I meant libxine1-all-plugins.
Well, the newer versions use libvlc so hopefully this won't be an issue.

Me tv has video but no soun
Okay, well I think we've had progress. I couldn't find
libxine-all-codecs but did load another couple of libxine packages from
Synaptic but still no sound. As per your instructions I then recorded
something with Me-Tv. When playing back with xine - no sound. With VLC
player, I had sound - perfe
Nearly out of ideas. Can you please record a program and try to play it
back in xine-ui (xine)? If it works then I'm really out of ideas
because that is what the Me TV player is using, in this case can you
make that recorded file available for me to download.
If it does not work then try a diffe
Hi Michael,
Many thanks for coming back to help. I feel I'm now beginning to work
my way round me-tv. I restarted doing all the things suggested
previously, recognising that I needed to change channels at least to
affect the audio driver change. Also, thanks for letting me know how to
properly
Hi Owen,

Good news.

however, I hope this was that okay?
You do need to change channels i.e. restart the player to get the new settings
applied.

Hi Michael,
I have slowly worked through the items you suggest. I can confirm that
Me TV has streams and shows 0: eng (MPEG 4). I then went into changing
the audio driver by selecting each of the options away from ALSA on the
drop down list. I did not restart Me-Tv each time I made a selection,
This bug is generally caused by one of 2 issues:
* Me TV not recognising your audio stream on a particular channel
* libxine not working with your audio hardware by default
By getting you to install xine-ui I was hoping that it would point out
an issue with the default libxine configuration.

Hi Michael,
Thanks for the response. I found I had not loaded "xine-ui". I did so
from the software centre and have run the application. It works just
fine and will load a video file with both video and sound. I guess
that's a little different than receiving a signal from a TV card, but
does s
Can you get xine-ui to work?
