Had the same problem, alt-tab was ignored despite being set in gconf.
However, turning on the 'Application Switcher' plugin in CompizConfig
Settings Manager saved the day.
Cheers.

An an addendum - I went to "system settings"/"keyboard shortcuts" and
tried changing the "Move between windows, using a popup window" command

alt-T also did nothing. Then I switched the binding back to the default

I have the same issue. alt-tab does nothing, but
/apps/metacity/global_keybindings/switch_windows is set properly.
When I first switched from 10.10 to 11.04, alt-tab worked. Then at some

how to get it to work again! It's frustra
I have the same issue, after upgrading from 10.10 to 11.04 this weekend.
However, I looked with gconf-editor at
/apps/metacity/global_keybindings/switch_windows and it's already set to

Perhaps unity needs to check that this setting is set, and if not, then set it.

I run a fairly customized gnome setup, so I will further investigate

It works fine on my other machine too.
I've upgraded my machine from lucid to maverick, so perhaps there's some

OK, not a dup. ALt-tab works fine here, so must be something specific to
your system. Any ideas?

It is not working between normal apps for me.
For example, if I have a terminal and a web browser open in the same
workspace, when the browser is in focus and I hold down alt, and press
tab, everytime I press tab, the tab events get sent to the browser.
Likewise when I have the terminal in focus a
