I just installed the final release of Hardy Heron and I can confirm that
I still have to boot with the acpi= off option.
Everything else seems to work OK. (Except most of the FN keys don't work
and sometimes the cursor leaps randomly to a different line when I'm
typing).

start my PC (Kubuntu 7.10) it asks for the password just so I can enable
my WAN. My WAN requests the password from it to start.

Hi I am writing to report that the FGLRX ATI drivers included in the
linux-restricted modules package are incompatible with Radeon mobility
(laptop) chipsets. This isn't just restricted to the 2.6.20-2 restricted
I can confirm this - it also make console logins impossible without
doing a reboot and removing the splash options.
Moreover the ability to press alt + F1 (or F2 or F3) to dismiss the boot
up graphics during boot is also not present. (As it is in every other
