Binary package hint: synaptic
Hi when using the latest version of Synaptic available in Feisty,
Synaptic only shows about 20% of my installed files. Also searching
Synaptic for software again only shows about 20% of the software
available on my preferred repositories. It seems synaptic is ignoring
all of my additional 'universe' etc type repositories - even though I
have these clearly enabled in my sources.list and in synaptic settings.
I prefer synaptic to adept as I have been using it for several years and
it allows me to the facility to pin packages and to upgrade or
downgrade, or choose alternate versions - which adept does not appear to
do.
