I hand-edit grub.cfg as I have Ubuntu + Debian/Lenny + Debian/Squeeze installed.
Anyway, no change - my system still freezes.

This is especially true of konsole - my keystrokes aren't processed until the
wallpaper has finished changing.
The really annoying + disconcerting part is that the wallpaper isn't always
visible.
There isn't a way I can find to change the process

Forget the stuff about v3c - I solved that.
I've set up the screen background to change every 5 minutes in KDE -

I'm having a problem using git clone on the command line. Early
revisions clone ok but later ones don't make it across. Could this be
related to packing the repository?
I should also mention that I've got a triple-boot setup with Debian-Lenny,

My only explanation is that there may be a race condition with the

and the question "Emulate 3 button mouse?" wasn't asked.
It's a shame it didn't feel the same way about my monitor and video card
- it happily scrubbed driver-specific settings.

I would like to simulate a middle mouse button click with my two button
synaptics touchpad but I can't.
I know the synaptics package is broken / non functional - I'm using it as a
regular mouse, no tap

Use case:
Kate launches synaptic from the KDE menu and is prompted to enter her password
by KdeSudo so it can run with root privileges.
Kate logs out without closing synaptic.
When she logs in
Yep - it happens even if I close the kdesu - started application before
logging out.
