Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

lsb_release -d => Ubuntu 8.04.1
KDE 3.5.9

Firefox 3.0

If I'm entering a bug report (this problem may include any text entry
field) on a web page and I wish to select part of the URL in the address
bar, the selection can sometimes miss the last character.

Steps to reproduce (I know this works)
Create a bug report.
Find another problem requiring another bug report.
You wan t to select
"https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/synaptic/+filebug"; from right to
left, but already have the first two lines of this bug report selected.
I've tried selecting the text with the mouse and keyboard, top to bottom and
bottom to top - it happens 3 out of four times.
Carefully position your mouse cursor at the end of the last character of the
text you wish to select.
If you leave the mouse at the end of the text you want to select after clicking
the primary (in my case left) mouse button, the selection works as expected.
If you click and drag without waiting, it misses the last character.

Additional information:
I don't have the fonts set so small that I could miss a "g". The problem is
real.
I'm pretty fast with a mouse, so you might think that I started moving the
mouse before I clicked. If that were the case I would expect the selection to
be wrong to varying degrees - not always one character.

When I used Fedora I maintained my Smolt database entry
http://www.smolts.org/client/show/?uuid=pub_97175f49-87f6-40f4-bf70-98cee3851809

I don't know if there is an equivalent in the Ubuntu world.
