Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.24-19-generic

lsb_release -d => Ubuntu 8.04.1
KDE 3.5.9
I've got the KDE 4 beta installed too although that shouldn't matter.

I've got kpowersave installed as it allows me to configure KDE notifications as
well as configuring button actions.
I configured it to associate the "lid close" action with "suspend to disk".
I've tried closing the lid - it activates the "lock desktop" and the
screensaver - no hibernate.
Just to be sure, I right-clicked on the kpowersave applet and clicked on the
"suspend to disk" menu item - same result.

I've got the nvidia-glx package installed, if that's relevant.

I tried this a while ago and had no sound on resume. I also tried
uswsusp, but that didn't work out so I removed it.

I re-installed the following packages after un-installing uswsusp and friends,
just in case.
