I got _troubles_.
I just installed a new 9.1 gb HD in my rhl box to use solely for
network storage space. I have 4 partitions on it.
But when I mount them to directories, like:
/dev/sdd1 /home/working/a-m
where /home/working is a samba and appletalk share, none of
the clients have write access.
This is my first posting to linuxchix. I started using Linux a couple of
months ago-- taking C was a real incentive to get xwindows working but I'm
having modem troubles.
I've been trying to configure ppp without success.
I've tried both the config options under linuxconf and kppp. I like k

Is this is actual command that you're using? It looks like it's missing a
space:
mount /dev/hdc /cdrom
Will mount the CD regardless of what's in mtab or fstab, assuming that
/dev/hdc is the CD drive and /cdrom is available to have something mounted on
it.

Is your CD ROM jumper set to master or slave? If the jumper is set to
master, change the jumper settings to be slave (your manual should give you
information as to how to set the jumper settings).
I had the same problem and the LUG (Linux Users Group at Univ. of Maryland,
Baltimore County) h

One of the reasons I wanted to upgrade is that I can't seem to mount the CD
ROM. I have tried many different pieces of advice. The most frequently
suggested being "type mount /dev/hdc/cdrom (or whatever your cdrom is
usually hdc but maybe hdb or ?)" When I type that command in any form I get

I had the problem once when I was writing a theme myself - only the
paths to the cursor pix were broken (but that was way back in 0.15 ...)

I have an HP OfficeJetPro 1150C - One of these printers with a flatbed
scanner on top. There is not a Linux driver available for it. If you
imagine it without the scanner, it looks like any other newish HP
Deskjet, so I configured my RedHat for a Deskjet 500+. It works fine. -
As a printer, I've y
