Hi All,
I have a client interested in using Canadian Solar modules. Anyone that
can share their experience with them good, bad, or otherwise would be
greatly appreciated. Also, a recommended distributor?
Thanks,
Kris

Dan,
690.10(C) says that you are "permitted" to supply single phase 3-wire
120/240 volt "service equipment" with 120 volts under the conditions
specified in that article. If you are installing a 240 volt inverter (or
stacking 2 120s, or using a step up transformer), 690.10(C) does not apply.

Hi wrenches,
I am looking to flash a 1" diameter snapnrack post on a pitched roof
covered with black epdm membrane. The roofing manufacturer has a one size
fits all, but its too tall to work well. Any suggestions would be much
appreciated.

It is my understanding that 2014 NEC will require red-positive,
black-negative, white-grounded conductor for all DC wiring. Remarking
still allowed for larger than #6. I have also heard that some modules will
soon come with one black and one white lead.

It seems to me that the conductor should not be subject to the 120% rule
despite what the code says. The potential safety issue here is overloading
the neutral bus, right? While feeding currents could be additive in the
panel, they would be subtractive on the feeder, no? I seem to remember

Dick,
I assume that you are referring to Helios, USA out of Milwaukee, WI.
I put in about 12kW last year with no issues. They seem like a good
solid product. I try to use them whenever i can since they are an
in-state manufacturer for me.

Esteemed wrenches,
I am assisting in troubleshooting a stand alone system with three stacked
Magnum 4448 PAE inverters. The electric ignition of LP for the wood boiler
will not fire from inverter power. As soon as we fire up the generator,
the boiler ignites. Has anyone seen this before? Is th
This is an amazingly timely post for me! I was just thinking of asking the
same question since i have a couple of ground mount installs coming up with
concrete pillars/galvanized anchor bolts/aluminum channel base. I notice
that DPW for example specs galvanized pipes to be attached with u-bolts t
I have used both recently. The IG Plus is nice for two reasons: the
integrated DC disconnect and the onboard string fusing/combining
capability. Their tech support has been easy to work with and have
reimbursed me for labor when needed with no questions asked.
