Anyone know what's going on?why sound from some sources but not others?

It looks like it was fixed between the 2.4.19 and 2.4.20 kernels according to this posting at www.linux-usb.org

winecheck.pl, I've been getting 93% score)
My aim is to install Dreamweaver3 on my 8.0 box..that would be a
coup.
