Hi Chris,
Ok, I just did some checking because I really don't know a thing about total

Microsoft. But in checking, I see that one is called sound recorder. So I
assume total recorder must be purchased online somewhere.

hi all,
I will post on list for the benefit of others.
Total Recorder is, in short a very powerful sound recorder and player.
But that's not all it does. In higher editions you can also edit,
process, and convert audio and even video files. One unique feature of
Total Recorder is the ability to
Before you, as a blind audio enthusiast, purchase an iPod Touch, expecting to

much more, you might want to keep my experience in mind.

When checking Apple's accessibility section on their Canadian site, we weren't

Hi Brandon. Actually, I was talking about the 8 gig iPod touch. I don't own an
iPhone and my iPod Nano is a 16 gig model. But, as Dane already mentioned here,
the 8 gig iToch is mot accessible.
Sorry you saw my post as "griping." It's just a consumer tip.

Hi!
Here's a great resource for Apple accessibility for Mac computers, Iphones,
Ipads, Ipods and so on and no, you wouldn't have found this on the Apple web
site but its one of many great resources that I think Apple should reference
and we're seeing what can be done about that right now.

Following some pointers from Dane, I found the site
http://www.apple.com/accessibility/itunes/ipodtouch.html which is Apple's
accessibility site devoted to the iPod Touch. On this page it says:

Yes, I'm just hoping that Customer Service will let me exchange my Touch for
the accessible model. No reason that they shouldn't. I'll pay the difference of
course. When posting, I was just hoping to save others the inconvenience of a
similar scenario, that's all.

Wow. This sounds even better than the Olympus DM4 which has just come out. I
like the idea of dedicated buttons and no menu structure. Perhaps someone
can do a podcast on this new unit, and then maybe we'd be able to compare
the two machines.

I don't know how anyone could compare this H1 to the Olympus recorder, I mean
one is meant for voice whilst the other is a professional unit, the H1 being
the professional recorder.

Hmm, but if you're plugging in a microphone of your choice, and both
machines record in .wav file format, would it matter at that point which one
you were using? I would opt for anything that makes professional recordings
like for audience taping at concerts or for making demo recordings,
please upload them.

Not sure how blind friendly this unit will be! As there is no on screen
menue there isn't a need for talking functions. If one is to go by the

the front of the unit. The monitoring speaker is definitely a plus. Although

That shouldn't be an issue if the unit lives up to its claims as meeting

Here's the Amazon link, quite a long one. The price, surprisingly, is
