Ah, I think you meant to say "I don't agree that the information was not readily available ...." I agree, but "readily available" is probably like beauty, it's all in the eyes of the beholder. I also agree about doing one's homework before such a purchase, but given that this was a gift, I can kind of see where the giver might not have done as much homework. I know my family is trained to only get specifically what I ask for as gifts, right down to the product/model number or URL.

I'm not writing to have a go at anyone but what I would suggest that anyone do who is considering the purchase of any product is to tap into a resource such as this email list or a similar one and ask questions and do a little homework, had the original poster asked the question on list first perhaps then I could have forwarded appropriate information or others could have done likewise but I'm rambling. You'll enjoy the Apple Iphone for its GPS capabilities and you have quite a variety of packages to choose from, this topic is frequently discussed on the mac-access list and you can view the archives or subscribe to the list by pointing your browser to www.mac-access.net On 09/08/2010, at 10:08 AM, Rob Bender wrote: > Hi Larry. Thanks for posting your message so others do not have the same thing happen to them. I was considering buying an iPod Touch last winter, and I found out that the 8 gig models were not accessible, but the information was not readily available. . I am considering upgrading mine and Lee's Nokia phones to iPhones to take advantage of the GPS and OCR. Depending on if Apple will be releasing an iPod Touch with a camera, then we may do that. The deal breaker may be how usable the GPS actually is in the iPhone. I apologize if I am going out of bounds for this list. I would appreciate any any observations or comments off list. > > ----- Original Message ----- From: "Larry Naessens" <larr...@distributel.net> > To: "PC Audio Discussion List" <pc-audio@pc-audio.org> > Sent: Sunday, August 08, 2010 7:36 PM > Subject: Re: Before You Buy an iPod Touch > > >> Yes, I'm just hoping that Customer Service will let me exchange my Touch for the accessible model.
